Easter Egg Hunt

I hope you all had a great Easter.  We had a super fun time playing with the girls and telling Sophia about why we celebrate Easter.  She listened intently as we looked through a picture Bible and Daddy explained how Jesus conquered the grave.  It was sure interesting figuring out how to explain it all to her.  Her mad knowledge of Sleeping Beauty helped quite a lot.  There are some similarities there that you might not think about…  We also had a little Easter Egg hunt for the girls.  They were both a great age for this.  It gave me such joy to watch them run around and fine the bright little surprises.

Here’s some video for the grandparents.  My camera battery ran out so we only got the first couple minutes.  Not terribly riveting, but sweet.

We didn’t take any sweet dress-em-up pictures… sorry, I know, so sad…  Check out this sticker collage that Sophia made with the stickers she found in her Easter Eggs.  I’m afraid that she may take after me more than I thought. 😉

I, of course, helped her with her name, but the stickers and the placement was all hers.  She kept removing and resetting stickers, and she had to have so many of each one.  I’ve seen her categorizing colors around the house, but never quite like this.  Anyway, it’s really cool to have the privilege of watching her grow up.

Better throw in a picture of Abby.  She’s starting to try on other people’s shoes.

It’s a privilege watching her grow up, too.

A Peek into our Evenings

I haven’t posted a video in a while, and I thought a few of you may need your Spicer girls fix.  Here’s a video of them. Them being them, nothing else.  Sophia’s belting out her abc’s and Abby’s running around being Abby.  If you make it through the end of the video, you’ll get some of Abby crying.  Well, that’s Abby being Abby.  I won’t apologize for it.  Bless her heart, she’s got sensitive feelings… as well as new teeth coming in.  Well, hope you enjoy it.

Abby’s Walking

Here’s a few videos of Abby learning to walk!  It’s all happening so fast.  She’s walking most of the time now, unstable but so, so brave.  She’ll even take off running sometimes.  These videos are from a few days ago, but enjoy these first steps that she’s making.  Boy, our house is going to be busy!  The first video is kind of long with Abby walking at different points.  If you make it through the whole thing, you’ll get a taste of what it’s like to be around here.  Sophia can’t stand to not be the center of attention… Well, enjoy.

Interview with Sophia 2

I interviewed Sophia this evening.  She was very cooperative.  Listen for “the baby Jesus.”  She also talks about her best friends, her latest show, and a few of her favorite things.

Sophia growing up

We recently had a few days away from Sophia, and we came back to this very big girl.  She’s more able to have a conversation, asking more questions, knowing her letters, and knowing all kinds of weird stuff–like Mommy’s and Daddy’s names!  Last night we were looking at some letter cards and she was showing me how she knew all of them.  She said, “Look Mommy, it’s just like your name. Your name is Angela.”  WHA?  Then we asked her what is Daddy’s name.  She said, “Daddy’s name is WillSpicer” as if it were one word.  So cute!  I had to get this on video.  So, we did a little interview of her to see what she would say.  Here’s two videos.  The first is of the interview and the second is of Sophia singing.  The annunciation of her singing kills me!  Enjoy.

Abby’s on the move

Abby is on the move.  She is a little fighter.  Stubborn as any redhead.  She so sweet, but she’s also so vocal about being uncomfortable.  She’s climbing all over me like I’m a tree and she’s a koala bear.  She can’t stand to be two feet away from me, poor thing.  She getting more control about where she wants to go and what she wants to do.  She and Sophia are having more and more fun together, and getting more and more in each other’s way.  Oh, sisterhood here we come!  I wanted to put up a video of Abby crawling, but when I got the camera out she decided to pull up instead.  So, here’s a little video of her pulling up.  Enjoy.

As of late… a few videos

Sophia loves to sing in the car.  On a recent trip around Memphis, she was singing the little piggies!  I just happened to have the camera.

Abby recently has started enjoying Sophia’s new walker/table toy.  Only Sophia doesn’t like to let her enjoy it so much.  She likes to play, “Mommy,” pushing Abby around, telling her “no,” and showing her which music is preferable.  I told her once, “Sophia, now be nice and let Abby play the music.”  She said, “I wanna tell Abby no.”  I said nothing and listened.  She proceeded to tell Abby over and over again, pulling her away from the piano keys, “No. Don’t do that. Abby, I said no. No, Abby…”  HA!

In this video, she’s just horsing around.  It provides great entertainment for Abby, though, which I appreciate.  I hope you can understand Sophia.  She’s pretty funny.
